'Sea/Shore' is a series based in areas where land and water meet. The segmented images begin with a single or contemporaneously captured images shot with a very soft focus or slowed shutter speed. The images are printed on a single piece of very thin Japanese Kozo for framing or, alternatively, individually on various configurations of 11" by 10" sanded acrylic panels with acrylic medium.  The resulting translucent pieces in shades of blue, green, gray and white resemble the sea glass that one often finds at the waters' edge. The blur and segmentation of the imagery require an active engagement from the viewer, who provides the missing detail and elements of the traditional landscape from memory, thus forming emotional wholes from the fragments.  The pieces are available in editions of 12.  Click on the image below to view work in this series.
